Net Positive in an existing nearly 150 year old home would be nearly impossible, so we were told. Site logistics, existing conditions challenges and of course, budget & scheduling constraints...
So we treated it like a science problem. Layer by layer...
We challenged our project teams.
Leaned on our distributors.
Worked with our internal support.
Enhanced our envelope.
Upgraded the mechanical narratives.
Adjusted our pressure boundaries.
Trimmed a few tree branches.
And lastly, paid attention...
The result? HERS Index: -2 ♻️
Meaning this beauty is set to produce slightly more energy than it uses over the course of a year.

It was about transforming a 1900 wood-framed, fieldstone foundation home into a healthy, comfortable, high-performance home built for the next 100+ years, where our clients can confidently age in place.
