Behind the scenes of our completed Williamstown project, built in collaboration with @ecocor.us and A Square Design. With a final HERS Index of -29, this net-positive energy home is one of Top Notch’s highest performing builds to date, producing WAY more energy than it uses.
That result took a coordinated team: builder, designer, and manufacturer working together from planning through execution. Thoughtful design, innovative products, and careful craftsmanship brought luxury, comfort, and energy performance together in one beautiful home.

Creating more space; Below the Surface!
Lowering this basement takes careful planning at every step; from structural underpinning and excavation to haunch details and intricate reinforcing steel. The sequence matters. So does the coordination between the design team and the crews.
To make excavation more efficient, we opened a section of the existing basement wall for compact earthmoving equipment to access the space. A strategic move that took planning of its own.
And the work goes well beyond structure....
Moisture management, vapor control, and insulation are central to creating a basement that will be comfortable and perform for years to come.
